Marge Margulies Marge Margulies has recently relocated to Northern California. She had been working in Philadelphia as a professional studio potter since graduating from the Philadelphia College of Art in 1981. She exhibits her work at galleries and stores across the nation and has participated in many national craft shows including The Smithsonian Craft Show, The Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, Crafts at the Castle in Boston, Massachusetts, and the ACC-Baltimore Craft Show. “The intent of my work is to create organic, flowing, compositions, often inspired by things such as topographical maps and flower arrangements, which then make lively and useful centerpieces. Elements of shape are combined, emphasizing fluid forms and rich and subtle color relationships. Each piece is wheel-thrown, then altered or squashed, and painted with colored glazes. They are lightweight as a result of my intention to throw in an even, well-balanced way.” |
