Laurence Glassworks

Originally from Paris, France, Laurence is a professional artist, designer and gallery owner based out of Sonoma County for over 20 years.

Laurence reaches out for colors that reflect the moment, the mood or her need. In a collage-like fashion, transparency, color and composition come together. Each of her works is one of a kind; an individual plate, an abstract painting, an invitation to share something delicious, an intimate moment, the present.

Among many notable commissions, her fine art work can be found within architectural, commercial interior and spiritual environments and among private collections in the United States and Europe.

As a collaborator, Laurence has teamed with artists of various mediums to transcribe multiple projects into prominent public art installations. She continues to work autonomously and with renowned studios as designer, fabricator and glass teacher in Northern California.

Laurence is accomplished in a variety of glass working techniques including casting, etching, slumping and stained glass with special expertise in glass fusing. For each piece, the glass is fired in a kiln, etched to create shadow and enhance depth and "heat formed" into its final shape.
